On September 15, all of our Give Back New York students attend the Fall Scholar event at the State University of New York. At the luncheon, students heard from the Presidents of Queens College and Mercy College, as well as from our founder, Bob Carr.
This past summer, Give Back in Illinois and New York kicked off their first ever book club. Scholars came together to discuss Sherman Alexie’s The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. The book tackles the typical challenges of a teenager, all with a humorous twist on adolescence, sports, and being apart of multiple communities.
