New Jersey Give Back Scholar Andrew Coates, Class of 2019, has been selected to participate in Disney Dreamers Academy. Disney Dreamers Academy is a four-day event hosted by Disney in partnership with Steve Harvey and Essence Magazine that focuses on helping students learn and develop into their future professions. Participants will hear from guest speakers and develop their skills to help them pursue their dreams. They receive thousands of applications each year, but only 100 are chosen and Andrew has been selected to be a part of the Class of 2019.
Andrew is looking forward to participating in the Academy and developing his skills in the fields of acting and production. He heavily participates in his high school productions and even has his own radio show. He looks forward to learning from those who have navigated the entertainment industry, such as Steve Harvey himself.
“I want to explore alongside working pros in the entertainment industry,” Andrew said. “I hope to learn skills that will give me an edge in the industry.”
Dreamers are selected based on their intellectual curiosity, compassion, courage, positive outlook, and generous spirit. Give Back is proud to have Andrew selected to participate in Disney Dreamers Academy and we wish him the best of luck as he embarks on this experience in the Spring.
