Give Something Back partnered with Mercy College in 2017 because of the shared goal of serving a diverse student body through innovative mentoring initiatives. Come join us as we explore its main campus, Dobbs Ferry.

The Dobbs Ferry campus is roughly an hour train ride up the Hudson Valley. Upon arriving at the Metro-North Dobbs Ferry stop, a trail directs you straight into campus. While walking up the trail, you are greeted by breathtaking views of the campus and the banks of the Hudson River.

Mercy College’s Dobbs Ferry Campus features eight modern buildings, which house the college’s athletic facilities, student residence halls, administrative offices, library, classrooms, laboratories, dining, and retail stores.

It also includes five outdoor tennis courts, a swimming pool, a soccer/baseball field, and a running track. Mercy College is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II member and offers intercollegiate sports. Full-time students taking at least 12 credit hours per semester and in good academic standing are eligible to try out for college teams. Freshmen who qualify under NCAA eligibility rules can be immediately eligible for varsity competition. The college’s team is known as the Mercy Mavericks. Students show their school spirit by wearing the school colors, blue and white.

The library at the Dobbs Ferry campus is the center of the Mercy College resource and information network. Students attending classes at any of Mercy’s campus locations can access the main library, which holds a total collection of more than 215,000 volumes and audio-visual materials. If a certain book is not available on one of the campuses, the College’s libraries participate in the interlibrary loan (ILL) borrowing and lending activities and can borrow a copy from one another.

The Dobbs Ferry campus offers housing accommodation options at Founders Hall and Hudson Hall, which allow students to thrive within the residential community. Both halls have a Resident Director and Resident Assistants that reside on-site, lounges for studying and socializing and dorms furnished with a bed, desk, and closet. There are single, double, triple and quadruple rooms. Each room houses 1-4 students. In 2017, Mercy College experienced record-breaking dorm enrollment! Students dorm to be a part of the residential community, avoid commuting and have easy access to classes and campus amenities.

The Dobbs Ferry Campus also has nine science labs, a gym, a greenhouse and a financial trading lab. In addition to these wonderful amenities, Mercy College offers the support and resources that students need. We are confident that our Give Back scholars will feel at home on the Dobbs Ferry campus. We here at Give Back are proud to call Mercy College a partner.
