Admissions Testing

Important Testing Goals in High School

  • PSAT: If offered at your school, take the PSAT in the fall (October). Taking this test in the 11th grade now makes you eligible for the National Merit Scholarships Program.
  • SAT/ACT: Prepare to take the SAT/ACT in the spring. Some high schools still offer SAT Prep as an elective class. If your high school offers this course, we highly recommend taking the class, as it will teach you useful test-taking tactics to prepare you for test day.
  • Make good use of your Khan Academy account. SAT test prep is available for Free.
  • Create an account at collegeboard.org: Each year, the College Board helps more than seven million students prepare for a successful transition to college through programs and services in college readiness and college success — including the SAT and the Advanced Placement Program. The organization also serves the education community through research and advocacy on behalf of students, educators, and schools.
  • If you are planning on playing college sports, you must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. ncaaclearinghouse.net
