The author, Robert Carr, a financially-strapped teenager who caught a break as a high school senior more than 50 years ago, has devoted his fortune and mission to help students who have faced hardship get the opportunity to graduate college. All proceeds from this book go to Give Back, the nonprofit he founded in 2003 to provide scholarships and mentoring to other hard-working students who could use a break.
