The Give Back staff is excited to welcome Cassie Scarzafava to our team as a Student Advocate. Before joining Give Back, Cassie spent five years working in marketing for both for profit and nonprofit organizations. She currently serves as the Give Back Graduate Assistant at Binghamton University, a Give Back partner college.

Cassie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies from SUNY Oneonta and is currently pursuing her master’s in social work at Binghamton University. In addition to her role at Give Back, Cassie interns with the Services for Students with Disabilities office at the University.

“As soon as I read about the Give Back program, I wanted to be a part of it,” Cassie said. “As a first-generation college graduate, I could visualize what a difference a program like this can make in someone’s life,” says Cassie about why she was drawn to the position.

When not at work, class, interning, or writing papers, she enjoys playing video games, traveling with her husband, and cuddling with her two cats.

Her future aspirations include becoming a school social worker, where she can continue to help the k-12 student population.  Some of her greatest role models and influences in life came from the educational setting and she would love to give back to that realm.

We are excited to have Cassie’s passion for education and shaping young minds. Welcome to the team, Cassie!
