Lady Gaga is one of the classiest, most authentic musical entertainers you can experience live. Turns out what she is doing offstage with her foundation is equally impressive, and Give Something Back is excited to be part of it.

Give Back was selected to be featured by Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation during the Sept. 11 stop of her Joanne World Tour at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

The Born This Way Foundation was founded in 2012 and is committed to supporting the wellness of young people and empowering them to create a kinder and braver world.

Give Back was featured as part of her foundation’s series of Kindness Pop Ups at select tour stops, designed to spread kindness and highlight exceptional local nonprofit organizations across the country. Nonprofits, such as Give Back, are chosen based on their demonstrated excellence in supporting and empowering young people. Needless to say, we were honored.

“It was amazing to be featured by Born This Way Foundation, which plays such a critical role in inspiring and empowering today’s youth,” said Melissa Helmbrecht, executive director of Give Back. “This was an opportunity to strengthen our relationship with Philadelphia as we develop partnerships with post-secondary institutions and community-based organizations around the state of Pennsylvania.”

Several Give Back staff members were also treated to Lady Gaga’s concert. Our founder Bob Carr took time from his busy schedule with his new startup, Beyond, to attend his first Gaga performance ever with his daughter,  and he had rave reviews!

But he didn’t come for the music, he came for the kindness.
